Returner Housing Application and $200 Nonrefundable Application Fee for 2019-2020 Due by Noon!

March 25, 2019

All residents interested in returning to the residence halls must submit their application and $200 nonrefundable application fee by noon in order to participate in the lottery. In order to qualify for the lottery, residents also must have paid their 2018-2019 room and board fees in full by noon and have a positive conduct record.

Returner Lottery Times Posted in myHousing or Waitlist Notices Emailed

March 28, 2019

Lottery times posted in myHousing or waitlist notices will be emailed. Please sign into your myHousing account after 5pm on March 28 to see your lottery timeslot. The lottery time is listed in the Application Menu below the menu item "Room Selection." For those not included in the lottery, a wait list notice will be sent by email.

New Room Selection Day for Returners

April 4, 2019

Residents selected in the lottery to return to the residence halls for 2019-2020 will have an assigned time to select their room for the next academic year from any available space. Room assignments for the 2019-2020 academic year are then emailed to residents by the end of May. Students will be able to sign into their myHousing account through April 9 to make changes to their room selection. After April 9, please contact the Housing Office to be on a wish list to move to another area.

Priority Notification Deadline for Housing Assignments - New Students

April 5, 2019

Deadline to submit completed application and $200 nonrefundable application fee for first run of notifications for New Freshmen, New Transfers and Continuing students. Room assignments and payment plans or wait list notifications will be emailed in late May. Applications submitted after this date in April will be processed in July and room assignments and payment plans will be emailed in July and early August.

Summer Housing Application Opens

April 8, 2019

The 2019 Summer Housing application opens at 9am on April 8 for students who have been admitted or provisionally admitted to the university for the Summer session or 2019-2020 academic year. You must be admitted and in good standing or you will not be able to access the application portion of the site. Your HSU user name and password will log you into your myHousing account. You must submit the completed application and pay a $200 nonrefundable application fee. Assignments are made on a first come, first served basis determined by the date the application and payment are received. When you move on campus, your application fee will be applied towards your summer Housing payment.

Last Day to Cancel from Waitlist Without Penalty - Returners

May 17, 2019

Last day to cancel from wait list without any penalty; if you completed your application by noon on March 25 at noon, but were placed on the wait list instead of getting a lottery number, you can cancel by May 17 and your application fee will be refunded in full. If, at any time Housing staff offer you a room on or before May 17 and you then cancel, you will forfeit the application fee. If you choose to remain on the wait list after May 17, the standard cancellation policy applies.

Residence Halls Close

May 18, 2019

Residence Halls close at 10am on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

First Round of Room Assignments, Guarantee or Waitlist Notifications

May 27, 2019

Room assignments will be emailed to students who returned a completed application and paid the $200 nonrefundable application fee by April 5, 2019.

Last Day to Cancel Housing Application for Fall 2019 and Provide 30 Days Notice

July 19, 2019

All cancellations will forfeit the nonrefundable application fee of $200, regardless of room assignment status. Please see the Housing License Agreement for further information. Please note that the Housing Office must receive such requests in writing or by email to housing@humboldt.edu by July 19, 2019. Cancellations to any other office does not satisfy the requirement to notify the Housing Office directly.
