New Room Selection Day for Returners

April 7, 2020

Residents selected in the lottery to return to the residence halls for 2020-2021 will have an assigned time to select their room for the next academic year from any available space. Room assignments for the 2020-2021 academic year are then emailed to residents by the end of May. Students will be able to sign into their myHousing account through April 9 to make changes to their room selection. After April 9, please contact the Housing Office to be on a wish list to move to another area.

Summer Housing Application Opens

April 8, 2020

The 2020 Summer Housing application opens at 9am on April 8 for students who have been admitted or provisionally admitted to the university for the Summer session or 2020-2021 academic year. You must be admitted and in good standing or you will not be able to access the application portion of the site. Your HSU user name and password will log you into your myHousing account. You must submit the completed application and pay a $200 nonrefundable application fee. Assignments are made on a first come, first served basis determined by the date the application and payment are received. When you move on-campus, your application fee will be applied towards your summer housing charges. 

Priority Notification Deadline for Housing Assignments - New Students

April 10, 2020

Deadline to submit completed application and $200 nonrefundable application fee for first run of notifications for New Freshmen, New Transfers and Continuing students. Room assignments and payment plans or wait list notifications will be emailed in late May. Applications submitted after this date in April will be processed in July and room assignments and payment plans will be emailed in July and early August.

Off-Campus Housing Presentation

Housing & Residence Life will be holding an informational presentation for students looking for off-campus housing, Wednesday, April 15th from 4pm - 5pm in the Klamath Room, 3rd Floor, JGC.

Topics include: completing a rental application, co-signer, credit check, information for first time renters, things to consider when renting, what to know before moving in, transportation options and other tips for living off-campus and any questions you may have.

Property Management Fair

Housing & Residence Life will be hosting a rental fair for local property managers in the Great Hall on Wednesday, April 22 from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

This is an opportunity to meet and discuss application processes, current listings, and any seek answers to other questions you have.

 

Last Day to Cancel from Waitlist Without Penalty - Returners

May 15, 2020

Last day to cancel from wait list without any penalty; if you completed your application by noon on March 24 at noon, but were placed on the wait list instead of getting a lottery number, you can cancel by May 15 and your application fee will be refunded in full. If, at any time Housing staff offer you a room on or before May 15 and you then cancel, you will forfeit the application fee. If you choose to remain on the wait list after May 15, the standard cancellation policy applies.

Residence Halls Close

May 16, 2020

Residence Halls close at 10am on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

First Round of Room Assignments, Guarantee or Waitlist Notifications

May 27, 2020

Room assignments will be emailed to students who returned a completed application and paid the $200 nonrefundable application fee by April 10, 2020.

Last Day to Cancel Housing Application for Fall 2020 and Provide 30 Days Notice

July 17, 2020

All cancellations will forfeit the nonrefundable application fee of $200, regardless of room assignment status. Please see the Housing License Agreement for further information. Please note that the Housing Office must receive such requests in writing or by email to housing@humboldt.edu by July 17, 2020. Cancellations to any other office does not satisfy the requirement to notify the Housing Office directly.
