On-Campus Resident Meal Plans

There are 5 meal plans offered for on-campus residents for Fall 2021/Spring 2022.

All living areas require a meal plan except College Creek and Campus Apartments. Residents of the Hill, Canyon, Cypress and Creekview Suites are required to have one of the All Access meal plans. Residents of Creekview Apartments are required to have any one of the meal plans.

Each plan is designed primarily for meals in The J Dining Hall. However, each plan has Flex Dollars, as well as 25% Meal Exchanges that can be used at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers instead of The J in place of a swipe. Each plan also has meals that can be used for resident's guests.

All Access 7 Day

The All Access 7 Day meal plan provides unlimited meals, 7 days a week in The J, and provides the best value of the meal plans. In addition, this plan gives students $175 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at other Dining locations. Also included are 78 meal exchanges that can be used at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal. One of the All Access meal plans are required for all residents of the Hill, Canyon, Cypress and Creekview Suites. This plan has the best value for students that plan to eat on-campus everyday.

All Access 5 Day

The All Access 5 Day meal plan provides unlimited meals, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday only, in The J. In addition, this plan gives students $300 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at other Dining locations or to be used on the weekends. Also included are 62 meal exchanges that can be used at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal Monday - Friday. One of the All Access meal plans are required for all residents of the Hill, Canyon, Cypress and Creekview Suites. This plan is best suited for students that do not plan on eating at on-campus dining locations most weekends.

Lumberjack 180

The Lumberjack 180 meal plan provides 180 meals in The J per semester. In addition, this plan gives students $400 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at other Dining locations. Also included are 45 meal exchanges that can be used in place of swipe at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal.

Lumberjack 125

The Lumberjack 125 meal plan provides 125 meals in The J per semester. In addition, this plan gives students $525 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at other Dining locations. Also included are 31 meal exchanges that can be used in place of swipe at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal.

Lumberjack 75

The Lumberjack 75 meal plan provides 75 meals in The J per semester. In addition, this plan gives students $325 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at other Dining locations. Also included are 19 meal exchanges that can be used in place of swipe at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal.

Commuter Meal Plans

Commuter Meal Plans are designed with the busy schedules of our students in mind. Our commuters can choose from a variety of plans that fit their needs while they are on-campus. Whether you are at HSU for a few hours a week or spend full-days on campus between class and studying, you can pick the plan that is right for you. The options offer both value and convenience and provide plan holders a clear path to success and a fulfilling HSU experience.

All meal plan options include Meal Swipes to use in The J Dining Hall and Flex Dollars to be used at any on-campus dining location. Meal Exchanges are included with the 50 Block and 85 Block plans which allow the student to use one of their meal swipes as an exchange at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers, for a complete meal.

Commuter Meal Plans can be purchased at the Housing Cashier on the 3rd floor of the JGC starting August 2021.

Exchange Base

The Exchange Plan Base meal plan provides 32 meal swipes per semester that can be used at any Dining location on-campus. In addition, this plan gives students $100 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at any Dining location on-campus.

The Exchange Plus meal plan provides 32 meal swipes per semester that can be used at any Dining location on-campus. In addition, this plan gives students $200 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at any Dining location on-campus.

In addition, this plan gives students $225 Flex Dollars per semester that can be used at any Dining location on-campus.

FAQs
  • How do I get a meal plan? On-campus residents will select their meal plan in their Housing Application. Off-campus students can purchase a Commuter Meal Plan at the Housing Cashier, on the 3rd floor of the JGC or at Student Financial Services on the 2nd floor of the SBS.
  • Can I add more meals or swipes to a meal plan? No you cannot add more swipes to a plan. If you run out of swipes you can use your exchanges or flex dollars or can purchase Cpoints to use at dining locations.
  • Can I add more flex dollars to a meal plan? No you cannot add more flex dollars to a plan. If you run out of flex dollars, you can purchase Cpoints to use at dining locations which includes a 5% discount.
  • What can C Points be used for? C Points can be used to pay for washing and drying clothes in the residence halls, to use at print stations around campus for printing, for purchases at the bookstore or at any dining location which includes a 5% discount.
  • Where can I purchase C Points? C Points can be purchased at the Housing Cashier, at Student Financial Services or online at https://get.cbord.com/humboldt/full/login.php
  • What can flex dollars be used for? Flex dollars can be used to purchase food at any dining location. Usually students would use their flex dollars at the other dining locations on-campus like the College Marketplace. 
  • What if I don't use all my flex dollars? Unused flex dollars at the end of Fall semester will roll over to Spring semester; any balance left at the end of Spring Semester will NOT be refunded.
  • What if I don't use all my meals in a Lumberjack plan? Unused meals from the Lumberjack plans left at the end of Fall semester will roll over to Spring semester; any unused meals at the end of Spring Semester will NOT be refunded.
  • How do the meal exchanges work for on-campus meal plans? Meal exchanges can be used for a meal at the College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers instead of using a swipe at the J. When you use a meal exchange, you are using one of your swipes (unless you're on an All Access plan). If you go over the amount of the meal rate when using an exchange, you will need to pay the difference at the time of exchange.
  • How much are the meal exchanges worth? Breakfast  - $7.25, Lunch $9.75, Dinner $10.25. If the amount of your meal is over the exchange rate, the difference will need to be paid at time of purchase.
  • How can I pay the difference if my meal exchange goes over the meal price allowed? Any tender can be used to pay the difference - cash, credit/debit card, C points or Flex Dollars.
  • Can I use meal exchanges at any dining location? No. Meal exchanges can only be used at College Creek Marketplace and Bigfoot Burgers that have a full meal exchange option.
  • What if I don't use all my meal plan exchanges by the end of the semester? Meal plan exchanges expire at the end of each semester.
  • What if I don't use my guest meals? Do they run out, or can I use them for myself? Guest meals are provided for students at no additional cost. Guest meals will expire at the end of each semester and are only available for a guest.
  • Can guest meals be used at any dining location? No. Guest meals can only be used at The J.
  • Do Commuter Plans provide guest meals? No. Commuter Plans are only for the student that purchased the plan.
  • If I'm on the All Access 5 Day, can I use meal plan exchanges on Saturday and Sunday? No. On the All Access 5 Day, meals and meal exchanges can only be used Monday - Friday. Flex dollars can be used any day of the week.
  • How do these plans compare to our previous meal plans? There are no more fixed costs and points. Students will either get unlimited or a set number of meals to use at The J with their meal plan.
