ResNet Help Desk Closure

The ResNet Help Desk will remain closed for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.  Residents are encouraged to review the resources available on this website and contact the HSU Help Desk at (707) 826-4357 for general help connecting to Wi-Fi.  For Housing specific connectivity issues, such as a building outage or to report trouble you may email or open a work order using the Room Maintenance tab in your myHousing portal.

About ResNet

ResNet, short for Residential Network, is the technology infrastructure providing high quality, wired and wireless Internet service to HSU Housing residents free of charge. ResNet is also our technology Help Desk that is student-staffed during the academic school year.

Although Humboldt State University does provides free wireless Internet access to all HSU students, this access is intended and tailored for academic use only. ResNet, on the other hand, is designed with “at home” internet usage in mind. Residents at HSU may use ResNet to connect their desktop computers, laptops, smart phones, tablets, gaming consoles, and streaming media devices to the Internet for both academic and recreational use.

Through ResNet, residents may work on class assignments with students both on and off campus, use HSU Library resources, or correspond with professors, family, and friends. ResNet is high speed and available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The ResNet Help Desk is located in the Jolly Giant Commons (JGC) Rec Room on the 1st floor. ResNet staff provide free phone, email, and walk-in support to all residents with computer networking questions or problems. The ResNet Help Desk is staffed during the Fall and Spring semesters.
